Indian commandos fought room-to-room battles with terrorists in two Mumbai luxury hotels early Friday morning as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in effect blamed Pakistan for the attacks, reports the FT.

The rear of the five-star Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel on Mumbai’s waterfront was on fire as India’s special forces worked through the 565-room building, freeing hostages trapped in their rooms. Explosions rocked the Taj and the Oberoi Hotel throughout Thursday. Police early Friday said terrorists were still holed up at both hotels along with an unknown number of hostages.

Indian nun gang raped, police did nothing

India's Orissa state government has been accused of failing to take action against the perpetrators of the gang rape of a 28 year old Catholic nun.

The Hindu reports the Orissa government has failed to take any action against those who committed the gang rape of the nun and the brutal attack on a Catholic priest who courageously resisted their attempts to force him to participate in the atrocity.

The incidents took place on August 25 at K. Nuagaon, 12 kilometres from the Baliguda subdivision in Kandhamal district in Orissa state. Both victims filed First Information Reports at the Baliguda police station. Sister Nirmala, Superior-General of the Missionaries of Charity, wrote to the Orissa Chief Minister and the Prime Minister specifying the atrocities.

The brutalisation of the nun and the priest by a mob raising anti-Christian, Hindutva slogans took place around 1pm at the site of the Divya Jyothi Pastor Centre.

India is a democratic country. Every religion has right to preach their religion. No one can stop the spread of a religion.

Well at last indian police caught the terrorists. Terrorism has gone to the extreme because of govt. negligence. Terrorism is getting  homegrown now. Hard days lie ahead for India if govt. doesnt take enough measures.

People are scared about their security. No one knows what happens to them when they are on road as many serial bomb blasts occurred in recent times.

Its very sad to say that Indian Students between 20-25 yrs are involved in the blasts.
