Fire at Islamabad's Marriott hotel five months after bomb

ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Fire broke out at the Marriott Hotel in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on Thursday, five months after a suicide truck bomber killed 55 people there.
"We got a phone call that there's fire in two storeys of the hotel. We alerted the fire brigades and they have sent fire engines," said police official Zahid Jan.
The cause was not known, he said.
A receptionist at the hotel said he could see smoke but declined further comment.
The hotel reopened in late December, just over three months after the Sept. 20 bomb attack blamed on Islamist militants. (Reporting by Zeeshan Haider; Editing by Robert Birsel and Sanjeev Miglani)

Ty'Sheoma Bethea: Obama Inspired By Letter, Invites Young Student To Speech

One of the guests at President Obama's address to Congress Tuesday night was Ty'sheoma Bethea, an eighth grader from a small town in South Carolina. Bethea wrote Obama and asked that money from the stimulus go to her dilapidated school. She had reportedly never been on a plane before boarding a flight to D.C. with her mother for the speech.
The president referenced Bethea's story in his remarks, and quoted her letter:
I think about Ty'Sheoma Bethea, the young girl from that school I visited in Dillon, South Carolina - a place where the ceilings leak, the paint peels off the walls, and they have to stop teaching six times a day because the train barrels by their classroom. She has been told that her school is hopeless, but the other day after class she went to the public library and typed up a letter to the people sitting in this room. She even asked her principal for the money to buy a stamp. The letter asks us for help, and says, "We are just students trying to become lawyers, doctors, congressmen like yourself and one day president, so we can make a change to not just the state of South Carolina but also the world. We are not quitters."
In an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America," Bethea revealed her own ambition: to be the first female president. She said she was inspired to write the letter because she thought too much of the stimulus money was going to people who already had enough.

There were conflicting reports about whether anyone was killed on the plane, which had 135 people onboard.
An airline official told CNN sister station CNN-Turk that at least one person was confirmed dead, but Turkish transportation minister Binali Yildrim said no one had died but that there were injured.
Journalist Ivan Watson in Istanbul said Turkish media quoted one crash survivor saying people were able to walk away from the crash.
"He said the back of the plane hit the ground first. He said it was not an extremely horrible situation, it was like being in turbulence. He said it was more like a sudden impact, then we stopped."
CNN's Matthijs Spits said from the Netherlands that local footage showed "10s of people" walking away from parts of the plane. He said the plane had not reached the runway but there had been no fire.
The Boeing 737-800, which originated from Istanbul, Turkey, was trying to land at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol when it went down.
Pictures from the crash site showed the plane split in three parts.
Greg Crouch, a journalist for RTL at the scene of the crash, told CNN that the weather was very reasonable at the time of the incident, with no wind or rain. He added that the plane came down close to the A9 highway, one of the Netherlands' major road routes.
Kieran Daly, of Air Transport Intelligence, said the pictures indicated there had not been a widespread fire.
He said the impact had been severe but it could have been survivable because of the lack of fire.
Daly said there had been vast improvements in the materials used to build airplanes, meaning they did not burn as easily.
He added that the airline had a good safety record, was successful, modern and well thought of in the industry.

Is it good time to invest in Oil?
Well, it all depends on your trading style. Looking at the charts for USO (my favorite Oil ETF), everytime you say it cant go lower, it does just that. For me, I am going to wait for oil to actually make a higher low (swing high) before looking at investing in oil for the long run. What's interesting is that even though Oil continues to go lower, the price at the pump has stopped going lower and in fact is higher than it was months ago when oil was more per barrel.
When crude breaks above $50/barrel which would be late March/early April. On a daily chart it's forming a sideways base after it's down-trend ended in December.
If you buy now you're taking a speculative view in anticipation of the upside possibility and would need a contingency plan at a price where you will cut your loses if you're wrong.
Some analysts say : oil has quite a bit lower to go. I think the recession is going to get worse yet and unemployment is going to rise more. We have large amounts of oil in storage, excluding the strategic reserve. I think the price will eventually go below $20. And rise to around $75 in a couple of years.
Best advice is till the recovery in the share market in the world market started to come, no one should purchase the crude oil in the MCX.
